Chevrolet was introduced to the Indian market between the years 1918 and 1928. The first Chevrolet car to ever be driven in India was Tourers, which was considered the cars of the rich class of the country. It has been around on the Indian roads for a very long time and its respect in the Indian market has only grown.

The manufacturing of the Chevrolet vehicles in India happens in Halol, Gujarat and Talegaon Dabhade, Maharashtra. The main headquarters is in Halol and Gurgaon, while the technical center is in Banglore. Both the manufacturing plants combined have a production capacity of 385000 vehicles in a year.
