The car that was aimed to be a ”Youth Icon” appealed to the smaller families than anybody else. The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R is a no nonsense car that nobody will hesitate to buy. The car has been a significant seller for the brand since the time it was launched. The car has gone through multiple facelifts but yet retains its boxy looks. The Wagon R now is also available with automatic transmission
Maruti’s K10 engines happen to be one of the most responsive engines of the brand. WagonR is also powered by the same series. It is equipped with a 1-litre petrol engine. The engine comes with two transmission options namely Manual and AGS (Automatic Gear Shift).
The K10 engines have never been an under-performer. The engine on the WagonR is punchy. The petrol engine can generate a max power of 50.0 KW @ 6200 rpm. Pushing it to the higher RPMs can be a bit noisy and unpleasant. The car is easily maneuverable with a turning radius of approx. 4.6m. The ride quality is stable, but pushing it into the corners is not advisable.
Apart from the signature box style body and huge headlamps, nothing on this car is more noticeable. The roof rails offer a sporty look. The two-tone beige and black interiors give a decent look to the car.
The car is roomy so that it is nearly impossible to touch your head to the roof. Space is a little lesser on the sides but is good enough for a family of four. The boot is small with a capacity of not more than one big suitcase. Storage spaces are smart on the inside, there is even some storage space under the seat. Good ground clearance and suspension setting makes it a comfortable ride.
The K10 engine promises an 8% percent improved fuel economy for this car. The petrol version can pull up to 18.9 km to a litre while AGS one up to 20.5 km.
